Recently, the research paper "Genome-Wide Association Mapping of Late Blight Tolerance Trait in Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)" was published in SCI-indexed journal Frontiers in Genetics (impact factor: 4.599) with Associate Researcher Fang Wang and Researcher Wang Jian from Institute of Biology, Qinghai Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences as the first author and the corresponding author respectively.

Potato late blight is a serious disease worldwide and the lack of good durable resistant varieties of late blight is one of the major problems in potato production. In order to study the resource profile of resistance gene and genomic selection for breeding for resistance to late blight, our potato research team used the Amplified Fragment SNP and Methylation-AFSM to simplify the re-sequencing method to conduct genotype analysis and multi-environment identification of 248 resistance isolating natural populations of potato to obtain different resistance materials Genetic mapping of potato late blight resistance gene markers was constructed by genome-wide association analysis, and 14 candidate genes were selected. This study laid a foundation for breeding potato varieties with durable resistance to late blight and further studying the molecular mechanism of durable resistance to late blight.
