On 17th February, the 2023 Winter Vacation Online Teacher Training Course on "Innovation Programme" of Qinghai University and the University of Nottingham, UK was successfully completed. The course lasted for a fortnight, with a total of 24 hours, and was delivered by six professors from the University of Nottingham. 35 teachers from the University participated in the course and successfully obtained the certificate of completion issued by the University of Nottingham.
The course covered innovative education, learning models in the context of globalisation, design of thinking, etc. The course guided the participant teachers to be more innovative in their academics by taking examples from how universities around the world are innovating for better teaching and research. The participating teachers actively communicated with the professors of the University of Nottingham, learnt from their experiences and demonstrated their achievements, which were well received by the tutors.
Song Yangbo, a teacher of the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, said, "I am honoured to participate in this training, the whole process is well organised, and the trainees have made great progress in their teamwork, communication and teaching abilities, thanks to the school for giving us such an opportunity."
Sanzhi Tsomo, a teacher of the Tibetan Medicine School, said, "I am inspired by the innovative ideas in this teacher training programme, especially the group-centred and inductive teaching methods in the training process, which is a strong reference for future teaching work, and has broadened my horizons in terms of creative teaching practice."
Sin Bingfeng, a teacher in the Department of Computer Science, believes, "Through the online teacher training programme at the University of Nottingham during the winter holidays, my language skills have been further improved, and the group discussion approach has allowed us to practice how to discover the essence of teaching and academic issues, and has also provided teachers with ideas on how to make positive improvements to the way they approach the teaching process in the future."
Courses have an end, but learning has no end. Although the intense and fulfilling winter holiday teacher training has come to an end, our office will gradually expand the width and breadth of international exchanges, set up more international exchange platforms for teachers, and launch more international courses that are beneficial to our teachers.
