Participants of the "Symposium on Conservation and Management of Nature Reserves in Developing Countries in 2015," sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, undertaken by the Qinghai Provincial Department of Commerce, and co-organized by the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Qinghai University, came to the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry for exchanges and discussions on September 2, 2015. The symposium was held in Conference Room 619 of the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, presided over by its secretary Liu Suying, and attended by representatives from the Research Project Department and teachers from various departments. First of all, Secretary Liu Suying delivered a speech that the symposium is a multilateral cooperation project developed based on the unique ecological status of Qinghai Province. It aims to help developing countries train talents, improve the theoretical level and technical application capability of students in the management and protection of nature reserves, and further promote the exchange of experience and technical cooperation between the province and other developing countries. Students are expected to strengthen exchanges, enhance friendship, and expand exchanges and cooperation with the college in a broader field by dint of the symposium and visit.
Then Associate Professor Xie Yongli made an introduction to the ecological reserve in Qinghai Province and the College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry on behalf of the college. A total of 41 students from 13 countries including Ghana, Cuba, Chile, Uganda, Tanzania, Palestine, Micronesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Sudan, Dominica, East Timor and Ecuador made the self-introduction. The two sides at the symposium conducted extensive exchanges on the development and experience of respective countries. The students consulted Qinghai University about the admission of international students and jobs of graduates from the college, and expressed their hope for the college to provide them with opportunities for further study. After the symposium, the students visited the Qinghai University Ecological Museum and the Three-River Source Exhibition Hall, and took photos on the campus. The symposium ended in a relaxing and joyful atmosphere.
