Recently, the paper titled “Transcriptome profiling of Jerusalem artichoke seedlings ( Helianthus tuberosus L.) under polyethylene glycol-simulated drought stress” has been published online in Industrial Crops and Products (IF=5.645), an international authoritative journal in agricultural engineering and agronomy with Associate Researcher Zhao Mengliang at the Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences of Qinghai University as the first author. The paper analyzed the physiological indicators and changes in the gene expression of Jerusalem artichoke cultivar 'Qingyu 2' under the stress of PGE, and found that the NAC, MYB, WRKY, HD-ZIP and bZIP transcription factors in Jerusalem artichoke are closely related to its response to drought stress. It is another paper on the theory of drought resistance of Jerusalem artichoke following “Metabolite Analysis of Jerusalem Artichoke ( Helianthus tuberosus L.) Seedlings in Response to Polyethylene Glycol-simulated Drought Stress” published online in International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IF=5.923), an international authoritative journal in biochemistry and molecular biology.
The above studies have laid a solid foundation for the exploration of drought-resistant genes for Jerusalem artichoke, its interaction with the environment, the clarification of the adaptation mechanism of Jerusalem artichoke in response to drought stress, and the selection of drought-resistant Jerusalem artichoke varieties, and provided a theoretical basis for the use of Jerusalem artichoke as an eco-friendly crop in the future.
The above-mentioned studies were jointly funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (31660569), the Qinghai Provincial Department of Science and Technology Key Laboratory Fund Project (2020-ZJ-Y02) and the Qinghai Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences Innovation Fund Project (2018-Nk-006).
